Prince Henri de Vigo Aleramico
Paleologo is Heir to the throne of Byzantium and a fons honorum with the legal
power to confer and confirm titles of nobility, fully valid in international law. This
legal power has been unequivocally and unquestionably confirmed several times by courts of
law in different European countries.
The Prince’s ancestors have had
their imperial heritage recognized down the centuries by Popes, Kings and Emperors; the
Prince himself has been formally recognized by various states and organizations.
For those, who are serious and
objective, the main legal decision upholding the rights of Prince Henri de Vigo Aleramico
Paleologo as a fons honorum are listed hereunder in chronological order.
1. Republic of Italy; 3rd July 1961
That Prince Henri's late father, Prince Cesare had " …the
right of Marchional sovereignty in Monferrat, Royal sovereignty in Thessaly and Imperial
sovereignty in Constantinople with hereditary succession in perpetuity and the descendants
(of this family) have never lost the prerogative of the fons honorum and consequently of
the jus honorum with the right to confer honors appertaining to family dynastic orders.
2. Republic of Italy; 24th March 1964
That to Pirnce Henri "…
legitimate and only son of
the late Prince Cesare are transmitted, jure sanguinis, the dynastic prerogatives already
belonging to his parent, including the authority to bestow titles and honors…"
3. In fact the french SUPREME COURT (Cour de Cassation) and the Appeal Court of
Nimes have recognized by judgements dates 9th October 1990 - 16th April 1991, that Prince
Henri is the Head of a former reigning House and has inherited the international right to
confer honours ("Fons Honorum" i.e. Titles of Nobility and Knighthood.
In the last 40 years the
french "Cour de Cassation" has recognized only 3 Royal or Imperial Princes; on
9th January 1963 His Royal Highness Prince Mircea Carol Hohenzollem as legitimate son of
the late King Carol of Romania, on the 21st December 1988 His Royal Highness Prince
Alfonso de Bourbon, Duke of Anjou, Cousin to His Majesty the King of Apain, as Pretender
to the Crown of France, and now His Imperial and Royal Highness Prince Henri
Paleologo as Emperor in Exile.
As far as we can remember no
other Prince did obtain so many and so important, official, irrevocable, legal
recognitions as our Prince Grand Master.
4. (Court of Appeal) Nimes;
April 16th 1991
That " even expired reigning families or their descendants have
the ability to confer honorary distinctions in strict conditions; and moreover, it is
clearly specified in legal decisions pronounced by Italian jurisdictions that Enrico de
Vigo Aleramico Paleologo belongs to an ex-reigning House which has conserved through the
ages the right to attribute honorary titles (jus honorum); that it is further specified
that the legitimate son and only heir to the late Price Cesar has received jure sanguinis
the dynastic prerogatives from which his father benefited including the right to confer
honorary titles …"
5. Russian Federation - Moscow; 24th July 1997
" Enrico de Vigo Paleologo is the head of the former ruling
House with the right to bestow noble and knightly title, which is recognized in many
countries and has adequate documentary proof
…"
"… Prince Enrico III (who) is the Head of the
Imperial Dynasty de Vigo Aleramico Paleologo and the only lawful Pretender to the Imperial
throne of Byzantium. The Royal Throne of Thessaly and Jerusalem and the Marquisate of
Monferrat…"
In addition, the following decisions are also a matter of public record:
1. The College of Arms of the Republic of Albania decree of 10th December 1992
signed by Dr. Virgil Karaj, Chief Jurist of the Albanian Ministry of Culture and bearing
the seal of the High Court of the Republic, which declared that Prince Henri Paleologo is
"officially recognized as Imperial Highness and Grandmaster of his Dynastic
Orders"
2. Republic of San Marino decree of 28th May 1994 signed by Dr. Francesco
Viroli, Doyen Judge, Commissar of Law of the Republic of San Marino certifying that
"in Juridical consideration and reply to the petition of Enrico de Vigo
Paleologo to be recognized as Sovereign Imperial Prince and heir to the Byzantine
Throne with the qualification of 'Royal and Imperial Highness', the above individual
is confirmed in the titles mentioned in the said petition as set forth above, to have
and to hold now and for ever.
Conclusion:
Prince Henri Constantine III is the Head
of Imperial of Byzantium, the ONLY LEGITIMATE PRETENDER to the Throne of Jerusalem, to the
